Beggs & Lane attorneys Nix Daniel and Jack Lurton successfully defended a radiologist in a jury trial held in Bay County, Florida. The trial came after more than three years of litigation. The plaintiff alleged that the radiologist acted negligently in communicating his findings with regard to a chest x-ray. Specifically, the plaintiff alleged that the radiologist should have called in the results rather than dictating them into the patient’s chart. The plaintiff alleged that the negligence of the radiologist resulted in the patient’s death.
The defense was able to present the jury with expert testimony demonstrating that the radiologist acted within the standard of care, and after an almost two-week trial, the jury returned a defense verdict on May 21, 2015.
