Beggs & Lane attorneys J. Nixon Daniel and Thomas F. Gonzalez successfully defended The Cessna Aircraft Company in a wrongful death action in Volusia County, Florida. The lawsuit arose out of a 2005 crash of a Cessna 172S light aircraft that occurred shortly after takeoff from Key West International Airport. Plaintiffs brought strict liability and negligence claims against Cessna and Honeywell International.
After an almost three week trial that involved testimony from numerous experts, the plaintiffs asked the jury for more than $4 million in damages, attorney fees and other costs.
